Solo founder of LoopLearn — formative assessment + small-group instruction for K-12 districts. 14 paying contracts, ~$210K ARR, momentum frozen until the spring buying cycle.Hana Sato spent eleven years inside K-12 — six as a middle-school math teacher, then five in a mid-size district's curriculum and assessment office, where she watched teachers drown in data they could not act on and watched promising edtech tools die because they ignored how schools actually buy. In 2023 she left to build LoopLearn: a formative-assessment platform that turns daily classroom checks into automatic small-group instruction plans, so a teacher of thirty kids can run differentiated groups without staying until 7pm. She is a solo, domain-expert founder — not a coder by training, but she ships through a small contract eng team and a no-code-plus-API spine, and she is religious about teacher workflow. LoopLearn crossed into early revenue with 14 paying school and district contracts (a mix of single-school pilots that converted and two small charter-network deals) and roughly $210K ARR, almost all sold the way schools actually buy: through curriculum directors, instructional coaches, and word of mouth at state edtech conferences. Her ambition is explicitly LARGE_BUSINESS — she wants LoopLearn to be the default formative-assessment layer for a meaningful slice of US districts, a durable category-leading company funded by a blend of revenue and a modest institutional raise, not a winner-take-all venture moonshot. Her hard reality is the academic calendar. Edtech buying clusters in spring and summer when districts set budgets and pilot for the fall; from late October through February, new-logo motion effectively freezes — procurement is closed, teachers are mid-year and cannot switch tools, and pilots pause. For the last quarter that seasonality has shown up on f3 as a stalled PULSE: no new logos since September, two pilots paused for the holidays, mostly renewal and support activity. The danger is that her momentum pillar reads like a flatlining startup when it is actually a healthy seasonal business waiting for the buying window to reopen. On f3 she is the textbook 'the traction is real, the calendar froze it' founder: strong EDGE (lived founder-market fit and real customers), climbing TRUST (an advisor, a district reference, a circling angel) and SIGNAL (a small but engaged educator audience), and PULSE as the binding constraint pillar holding her score down heading into the spring cycle.
