Solo founder validating Tempo, a scheduling + payments tool for independent music teachers. Idea stage, bootstrapped, figuring out if I'm the one to build this.I'm a former private piano teacher who spent eight years cobbling together Google Calendar, Venmo, and a paper notebook to run a 30-student studio. Tempo is my attempt to turn that mess into one small, opinionated tool for independent music teachers: recurring lesson scheduling, automatic make-up-credit tracking, and tap-to-pay invoicing. I'm at the idea stage. I have wireframes, a landing page, and twelve discovery conversations with other teachers, but no product and no paying users yet. I'm building this as a lifestyle business first; I want it to support me and maybe one contractor, not to become a rocket ship. My biggest open question, and the one investors would press on, is whether a music teacher who can code well enough is actually the right person to win this category versus a seasoned SaaS operator. I'm using f3 to make my early progress legible, to stay honest about my weakest pillar, and to figure out the smallest set of proofs that would convince me this is real.
