Director of the Beacon University Startup Studio — a credit-bearing campus venture studio for student and alumni founders.Dr. Renata Oyelaran runs the Beacon University Startup Studio, the university's entrepreneurship venture studio housed inside the College of Engineering's innovation wing. A former deeptech product lead turned faculty-of-practice, she built the studio's signature 'Build Semester' — a credit-bearing, cohort-based program where student and recent-alumni founders ship a venture under faculty and mentor supervision, earn academic credit, and graduate into regional accelerators and non-dilutive funding. She has shepherded 140+ student ventures over six cohorts, placed alumni founders into national accelerators (including CBE LIFT), and treats the studio as a feeder, not a finish line: her job is to take a campus idea and de-risk it to the point a real accelerator or angel will take the meeting. On f3 she lives in the operator console — curating her cohort, watching cohort health, confirming inferred student memberships, and routing graduating ventures and interns to the wider ecosystem. She partners closely with Marcus Webb at CBE LIFT (her main downstream accelerator) and with the statewide SBIR program for non-dilutive grant placement.
